The St. Regis Mauritius Resort

Discerning in every detail, our pool, fitness club, watersports, and tennis courts offer endless recreation. Additionally, Iridium Spa presents unrivalled relaxation while six destination restaurants and a private cinema add to the select offerings.

The St. Regis Mauritius Resort is nestled on the legendary Le Morne peninsula at the far southwestern tip of the island of Mauritius. Overlooking sparking white sand beaches and a pristine turquoise lagoon, the peninsula was added to the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 2008. Nearby, myriad caves, steep slopes, rare plants—including the Mandrinette and Trochetia boutoniana—and a singular 500-metre-high basaltic rock define the surrounding area’s dramatic natural beauty. Additional outdoor destinations include Black River Gorges National Park, La Vanille Crocodile and Casela Parks, and the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden.

Aside from the captivating scenery, consistent offshore breezes make the area a top spot for kite flying or kite surfing. The translucent waters also draw visitors and locals in search of ocean activities ranging from big game fishing, undersea walking, and swimming with dolphins to sailing, snorkelling, diving, and more. For an extremely memorable adventure, there are helicopter tours and skydiving adventures. A day trip to the nearby Île aux Cerfs, meanwhile, reveals some of the region’s most breathtaking beaches, while just 20 minutes away Tamarina Golf Course presents the island’s most pristine golfing experience.
Supplementary enriching cultural activities include visits to the village of Charmarel or Aapravasi Ghat monument and shopping at either the Bagatelle Mall of Mauritius (45 kilometres away) or Cacavella Shopping village (25 kilometres away). A tour of the Chamarel Rum Factory provides insight into the island’s rich history while horseback riding and four-wheeling add to the array of endless recreation options.

Although it was actualized in 2012 by South African architect Stauch Vorster, the legacy of The St. Regis Mauritius Resort dates back more than 100 years. At that time, the Manor House, which forms the centre of the resort, served as the home of a local family of privilege. Enabled by the head of the household';s success in the Mauritian sugar and rum trade, the family enjoyed ample time basking in the dramatic landscape on Le Morne peninsula and embarking on marine adventures in the turquoise waters that lapped the foot of the family home.

Regularly, they set sail across the lagoon, with their sights set on the wide-open Indian Ocean. The stories they encountered and the keepsakes they collected on these excursions provided much of what is seen at the resort today. Following a complete restoration, the Manor House still comprises seven elegantly-appointed sleeping quarters, now suites, which at the turn of the century would have accommodated visiting dignitaries and royalty. The colonial ambiance also extends across almost one kilometre of beach, where Vorster has designed a series of new, captivating residences and suites.

Soothing taupe walls draw guests into our Deluxe Rooms, where colonial-inspired décor harmonizes with clean modern lines and discerning amenities, starting with the discreet entertainment centre. Nestled behind wicker doors in an expansive shelving unit populated by authentic objets d’art, it comprises a 42-inch LED TV with a DVD player and iPod connection panel. Additionally, complimentary Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the room and a marble-top mini bar with coffee and tea maker provides in-room refreshments.
Creamy tile floors lead to a woven area rug, which houses either one king-size or two queen signature St. Regis beds topped with crisp, white 300-thread-count linens and bookended by a mirrored headboard and antique-style wooden trunk. Complementary, contrasting wicker side tables and hanging lanterns further underscore the island’s rich heritage, while glass doors draw guests out onto a private eight-square-metre balcony or terrace with spectacular views of either the Indian Ocean or rolling island of Mauritius.

Moving into the spacious bathroom, sinuous lines and clean angles unite with a neutral palette and mahogany wood accents to define a standalone oval bathtub and marble dual vanities with raised, circular sinks. Sea-glass green mosaics outline a separate walk-in rainshower, which is joined by premier Remède bath amenities, plush bathrobes, and slippers.
