Hotel Punta Tragara

Punta Tragara, the most unique hotel on Capri, is a beautiful 15 minute walk from Capri's famous Piazzetta, the islands main square. Punta Tragara also has the best views of the famous Faraglioni rock formation and, is the closest hotel to the renowned Fontelnia beach club. Punta Tragara Hotel has an intriguing history. Designed by French architect Le Corbusier as a private villa of engineer Vismara in the 20s, the house was headquarters for the American Command during World War II and played host to such famous guests as General Eisenhower and Sir Winston Churchill. In 1968, Count Manfredi bought the villa and turned it into the luxury Hotel Punta Tragara; today, this stunning hotel is an elegant retreat, full of charisma and character with fabulous food, two outdoor pools and the most glorious sea views. The décor and furnishings at Punta Tragara Hotel are ravishingly stylish yet refreshingly down to earth with sculptures, antique, archaeological artefacts and contemporary works of art, all meticulously placed. Outside is designed for sunbathing, swimming and gazing over the sparkling bay.Take a private boat tour to the Blue Grotto and then around the island. Back at Punta Tragara Hotel, watch the sun set while enjoying an aperitif at the bar before dining ‘al fresco’ on the veranda at Monzù Restaurant.

Punta Tragara is all about a low key relaxing experience and one of the main reasons so many guests return year after year. There are 44 guest rooms and suites, none of which have the same layout. This can be a bit confusing so ask your advisor at Classic Travel to explain the difference. Generally the sea view rooms are much more dramatic then garden view rooms. However the garden view rooms are closer to the hotels two swimming pools, spa and fitness area.

The suite has a huge terrace, from where you can admire the breathtaking landscape of the whole Marina Piccola Bay and of the world-famous Faraglioni rocks. The bath is not only spacious but glamorous as it includes a large soaking tub, a separate free standing stall shower as well as your private sauna. The total square footage is 970.

Light meets the space and the classic embraces the modern. You will feel the emotion of enjoying a bath in front of the Faraglioni rocks because the only thing that seperates you is a 10 foot window. The 700 square foot suite also has a reachable through an outside staircase. An beam of light between you and the sky!

MONACONE SUITE AT THE PUNTA TRAGARA
A balcony as wide as a boat deck, wedged in the wonderful view of the Faraglioni rocks and of the Marina Piccola Bay. You will feel as floating in the air, a deep emotion with the sea of Capri and the flight of seagulls in the background. This suite is 700 square feet.

LA CERTOSA SUITE AT THE PUNTA TRAGARA
As soon as you enter this Suite, you will immediately enjoy the spectacular view, the sea, and the sky – the roof will be no barrier anymore! Hard to find words to describe the terrace, from where your view embraces the Faraglioni rocks, the Marina Piccola Bay and the picturesque town of Capri. This suite is 700 square feet.
