The great Greek poet and Nobel laureate, George Seferis, declared Paros—with its gently rolling landscape, pristine beaches, mesmerizing villages, and ancient treasures—to be the loveliest of all the Greek islands. Elevating this allure for today’s traveler, the sublime 33-suite Parīlio echoes the island’s distinctive block-white architecture style while crafting understated luxury from natural stone materials and a soothing color palette comprised of neutral white, grays, ochre, ivory, and sienna. Located on Naoussa Bay—along the island’s northeastern coast between stunning Kolympithres Beach and the jewel town of Naoussa—the property presents contemporary Greek design alongside objets d’art from leading European designers. Striking ceramics sourced from an innovative North African studio serve to inspire conversation, while the hotel’s strong holistic look and feel make for a gloriously poetic retreat in full harmony with the surrounding sea and natural rocks. A place of peace and sublime beauty, Parīlio’s sense of sanctuary makes it an ideal haven for the creative-minded single, but also for families and couples looking to bond with both nature and each other.
The suites span 30 and 40 square meters, and all afford views of either the hotel’s courtyard, pool, or surrounding mountains. The Aurora Suite, at up to 30 square meters, features a king- or queen-size bed, while all other guestrooms boast a king-size bed. The Halo and Uranus Suites span up to 40 square meters and is home to a private Jacuzzi, while the Sun Suite spans up to 42 square meters and offer a pool and living area, respectively.
In transforming a 55-room complex into a 33-suite hotel, the architect made liberal use of colored concrete, terracotta floors, and local marble to create a stage for bespoke furniture, natural wood, and a subdued color palette that presents traditional Cycladic architecture in a modern light.
Inspired by Cycladic simplicity, the design team for Parīlio incorporated bespoke furniture by IDLaboratorium, lighting by Italian company Toscot, bedside tables by 101 Copenhagen, and an earthy color palette comprised of neutral tones defined by white, gray, ivory, and sienna.
