Les Sources de Caudalie
Les Sources de Caudalie, located among the vineyards of Château Smith Haut Lafitte, a Graves great growth, was established in 1999. The concept behind Les Sources de Caudalie is inspired by the "French Paradox", discovered over 20 years ago. It refers to a study proving that the French diet and lifestyle, particularly in Southwest France, is conducive to good health.
The 40 rooms and 9 suites are named and decorated in keeping with different facets of the Aquitaine region. The five cottages also revolve around the region's rich, varied culture as reflected in paintings, antiques, and warm-coloured fabrics.
Nicolas Masse initiates you into the secrets of fine food combining flavor, balance and creativity. Inspired by 18th century ornamental greenhouses, the restaurant La Grand'Vigne invites you to discover a sincere and generous cuisine which evolves with the season. La Grand’Vigne is in a refined setting overlooking a small lake with swans, and it features a small terrace on which enjoy meals, weather permitting. The decor and the 18th century fireplace that dominates the dining room recall the various shades of red wine grapes as they ripen in order to create a warm, comfortable ambiance that enhances the pleasure during a romantic dinner, or a business meeting in a private room.
The French Paradox Bar opens onto the wine cellar where 1,200 precious bottles are stored. The cozy atmosphere, club armchairs and wooden floor, invite guests to enjoy a great collection of old Armargnacs, Cognacs, Whiskies...
The enchanting Tour de la Dégustation, ("Tasting Tower") overlooks Les Sources de Caudalie and the vineyards of Château Smith Haut Lafitte. A lounge with a half-British, half-Cuban feel is the ideal place for relaxing and enjoying the exceptional view of the vineyard.
At Les Sources de Caudalie, bottles are served and appreciated respecting the traditional "French wine-tasting art". The cellar holds 16,000 bottles from the most attractive wine producing regions in the world. The Head Sommelier Aurélien Farrouil knows every nook and cranny, and monitors the development of each magnificent wine. Both white and red Graves great growths are served by the glass – a choice of 16 wines, the crème de la crème of this prestigious appellation. The Graves region, the cradle of Bordeaux wine, is famous for its elegant wines. Its crus classés are the quintessence of refinement, and make a perfect accompaniment to subtle cuisine.
Located in Les Sources de Caudalie, Caudalie’s Vinotherapie® Spa offers a Spa program of exclusive treatments in an environment of rare beauty. The refined atmosphere of the 22 treatment rooms, the blend of noble materials uniting wood and stone, and the size of the building (2000m²), reminiscent of an old tobacco kiln; all were designed to harmonize perfectly with the great landscape of the vineyards and give the relaxation lounges a distinctive style. Unique treatments combine the virtues of natural hot spring water drawn from 540 meters beneath the earth - rich in minerals and oligo-elements - with the most recent scientific discoveries of the benefits of the grape and the grapevine. Hammam, Jacuzzi, in-door swimming pool, relaxation room and solarium overlooking the vineyards.

Discover the sport activities offered indoors or in the middle of nature - a 25 meters warmed outdoor swimming pool open from May to October, an outdoor Jacuzzi, like an echo to the famous Caudalie bath barrel, the water comes directly from the spring source of warm water located 540m underground, the gym overlooks the vineyards, an outdoor tennis court, bikes are provided to go for a stroll in the forest or to visit the nearby wineries, jogging trail in the private woods, 3 holes Pitch and putt Golf on-site or reservation in one of the 50 Golf of the Aquitaine Region. You can also rent a typical boat to discover the Arcachon Bay in a unique way. Other activities include cooking classes, wine tasting classes, wine tours, and more.
