Hotel Parco dei Principi sits between the blue sea of Sorrento and the lush greenery of a 27 thousand square metres  garden overlooking the ocean, in one of the most popular locations loved by tourists from all over the world. Minimalism and space are key in the 96 rooms with their original pieces of Gio Ponti furniture: the famous headboard panels, the ‘Vanity’ tables with circular mirror, the ‘Leggera’ chairs and the built-in closets. The white and light blue majolica tiles reflect the sea and sky colours: patterns featuring moons, circles, triangles, stars and leaves tell a different story in each room. 

Since 2012 the lobby, with its view out to the endless sea, has been home to the ‘Museo dell’Opera’, an exhibition of original sketches and some of the hotel’spieces of furniture, themselves milestones of Italian design. At the ‘Gio Ponti’ restaurant, a spectacular stage facing out to the Gulf and the islands, each new day starts with a delicious breakfast.

A path through tunnels in the rock leads to the private beach and the solarium. Out on the deck, the ‘Poggio Siracusa’ restaurant offers diners seafood specialties, which they can enjoy while they listen to the sound of the waves in the background. Nestled amongst the ancient oaks and other rare trees of the huge botanical garden, is a salt water pool designed by Ponti to resemble «a stretch of water for wood nymphs.

For those looking to recover harmony of body and spirit, the hotel’s guests are able to avail themselves of a fully equipped fitness centre and massages upon request. The quiet eighteenth century courtyard of Villa Cortchacow, where the prima ballerina at the Court of Saint Petersburg performed, is the perfect place to read a book.
