Flemings Mayfair Hotel

Flemings Mayfair Hotel is set in one of London’s most exclusive neighborhoods on a peaceful residential street, just two minutes from Green Park, Piccadilly Circus and New Bond Street. Converted from 13 Georgian townhouses dating back from 1731, Flemings Mayfair Hotel opened in 1851 making it one of London’s oldest established hotels. Flemings Mayfair Hotel is not only one of the last privately owned in the country, it has also been owned by the same family for over 40 years. Flemings Mayfair Hotel’s unique love for art has also had a long history of collaborating with local galleries to showcase and promote unique British art and photography.

Flemings Mayfair Hotel prides itself in creating a memorable stay, unique to every guest. Their elegantly proportioned 129 rooms, suites and apartments are decorated with more than a nod to the glamorous nineteen thirties: shades of bronze and soft greys with highlights of teal, indigo and mustard. Bespoke furniture has been designed in silver stained fiddle-back Sycamore, finished in gloss piano lacquer accented with shagreen, brass and buffalo horn.

Flemings Mayfair Hotel’s newly designed Drawing Room; the hotel’s elegant reception room echoes elegance and style in homage to the hotel’s 18th century origins. This Georgian history is reflected in the room’s harmonious proportions with reinstated period detail including 3m ceiling height and sash windows, as well as an original marble fireplace providing the focal point of the room. The room is complemented by a natural, soft colour palette. The room’s heritage is further complemented by exquisite hand-painted wall panels by de Gournay depicting early views of India and ‘The Tree of Life’ by intuitive painter Eileen Schaer. Bookcases on either side of the fireplace display a fascinating collection of art books from Assouline for guests to enjoy and peruse at leisure.

Flemings Mayfair Hotel’s refined Indian-inspired tea room welcomes guests and visitors to enjoy light refreshments and beverages all day or to imbibe wine and champagne at its small bar. The Drawing Room is also a perfect setting for an afternoon tea. Working in partnership with the East India Tea Company, guests may choose from a selection of thirteen different traditional and exotic teas including a signature Flemings blend.

Flemings Mayfair Hotel has appointed Michelin starred Shaun Rankin as Executive Chef to oversee this exciting new opening from summer 2016. Shaun’s new venture with Flemings Mayfair Hotel will run alongside his current Jersey restaurant and his love for the island and its local food will be reflected in the new Flemings Mayfair menu.
