The rich history of Villa D'Este dates back to the century when some nuns, who took refuge from the civil war in 1442, built a convent in the park-- it is said some of the building's remains are still standing. Cernobbio then was a village populated only by fisherman and woodcutters, until a century later the Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio of Como chose this site for his private residence. The villa was built in 1568 by architect Pellegrino Pellegrini and was considered one of the finest examples of architecture and landscaping. The resort includes three restaurants, a night club, piano bar, sports, boating, pools, spa and massage rooms, golf and a salon.

Wedding at Villa D'este


Villa D’este provides the perfect space for grandiose weddings and receptions with its classy Renaissance style. Romantic and noble, it will be a day you and your guests will vividly remember.

Four banquet rooms accommodate up to 400 guests and nine smaller rooms can accommodate up to 250 guests with all technical equipments available.

With a regal ambiance, the Sala Impero room is situated in the main body of the villa and is the favorite salon for wedding receptions and cocktail parties. You and your guests will savor the moment and superior service from the hotel staff.

The Terrace is also another venue option. Uniquely situated on a grand terrace nestled between the hotel and the lake, it offers a full panoramic view during the day or night. The space can be prepared to make a dream wedding possible. Here, the smell of jasmine sweetens the air along with a variety of fresh flowers and lemon trees.
