The spa offers treatment rooms with private outdoor shower gardens, couples hale (cabanas), and enhanced relaxation areas with volcanic stone grottos, whirlpools, steam rooms and saunas, as well as an outdoor coed relaxation area. Guests can indulge in authentic Hawaiian Lomilomi massage, body wraps with tropical ingredients, facials with organic products and a range of salon services. Golf at The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua

Home to the prestigious PGA Tour's Mercedes Championships each January, Kapalua Resort is renowned for its three pristine golf courses and the Kapalua Golf Academy. The Kapalua Resort is one of the few in Hawaii to offer three 18-hole championship layouts -- The Bay, The Village and The Plantation.

The Bay Course, designed by Arnold Palmer, is a 6,600-yard, par 72 with gently rolling fairways and generous greens. Its signature hole extends onto an ocean-framed black lava peninsula.

The Village Course, also designed by Palmer, rises and falls through the West Maui foothills for a 6,632-yard, par 71 experience. The Village Course will be closing as of February 28, 2007 in preparation for the opening of Kapalua's first members-only course, The Mauka Course, designed by Tom Fazio.

The Plantation Course, a newly renovated Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore-designed course is home to an elite field of PGA TOUR champions each January for the Mercedes Championships. The 7,263-yard, par 73, unfurls across island canyons, native vegetation and panoramic oceanfront plateaus.

The Kapalua Golf Academy Hawaii's most complete state-of-the-art teaching and practice facility was designed by Hale Irwin in conjunction with Kapalua's golf staff. The academy and 23-acre practice area provide training in all aspects of the game -- putting, chipping, wedge and bunker play, specialty shots and the full swing. All three courses offer a complete golf shop stocked with equipment for demonstration, rent or purchase, private instruction from a staff of PGA professionals and a putting green and practice range located on-site.
