Located on the bank of the scenic Chao Phraya River, The Peninsula offers very spacious, luxurious rooms (even minimum rate rooms offer a sitting area) and suites with panoramic views of the river and city skyline. The Peninsula Riverboat shuttle boat service and sky-trains bring the hotel close to all major shopping areas and tourist attractions. There is a three-tiered outdoor swimming pool with Thai Salas, two outdoor floodlit tennis courts and fitness center. All rooms have state of the art electronic bedside panels, a double-vanity bathroom and a satellite television above the bathtub. We love the fact that there are only 12 suites per floor. While all the suites have great views and are spacious, it is the Deluxe and Grand Deluxe Suites (same layout as Deluxe but higher floor) that are the ones to reserve. With their private entrance which doubles as a study plus seperate living room it is like having your own apartment in Bangkok. Infact, its better, as there are not to many residences that offer a staff ratio of almost 3 to each guest.. There are five outstanding dining venues however it is the restaurant "Thiptara" that stands out. It is the hotels premier Thai restaurant on the river and amongst grand banyan trees that surpasses any other river restaurant we went to. It is only open for dinner and offers a Thai cooking school as well. Understated and sophisticated like no other.
