The “Tremoille” is one of those Paris gems you hope not too many learn about.I did years ago when I was staying close by at the better known Plaza Athenee. What the “Tremoille” lacks in grandness it makes up for by being elegantly low key and discreet.

Opened in 1883, it was totally redone in 2002.From the outside, which is a historical monument and fits perfectly into the chic 8th arrondissment, you would never know what to expect when you enter. The small lobby is unpretentious and the intimate bar and comfortable restaurant is the perfect place to dine whether you are with someone or traveling alone. The furnishings are however, decidedly contemporary.

It all works beautifully.All the latest technology has been added including internet access which is free to hotel guests.An exclusive spa and fitness center was also added in the renovation. It is easy to understand why well know and sophisticated travelers who want more privacy return to the De La Tremoille.
