Where the impressive Grand Hotel Punta Molino Terme stands today, once there was a mill. The luxury resort grew out of the pine groves on the Northeastern part of the island, which is the largest in the bay of Naples. The hotel was built amidst the unspoiled scenery of Lavi Cliffs and Olive trees. Great care was taken to preserve the special magic of the place. Century old pines were left standing and the limestone buildings were never allowed to rise above the tree line. The Grand Hotel Punta Molino Terme is built in two sections that resemble towers, the one linear, the other convex. It has 85 rooms, two restaurants, two bars, and a landing palce for private yachts. There are two swimming pools in the park, facing the sea, one pool with thermal water, the other with fresh water. A third pool with thermal water is inside the fitness center. Rooms are furnished with antiques and period reproductions created by the fine artisans in the area. In the main lounge antique furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries creates the perfect ambiance. Monks of nearby Abbey painted the chairs and tables of the restaurant.
