Faena Hotel & Universe
The Faena Hotel & Universe is a chic, trendy boutique hotel and residential complex. The interior’s idiosyncratic design, dark polished mahogany and 18-carat gold leaf swan chairs, was conceived by Phillipe Starck. Faena Hotel was once a warehouse in Puerto Madero Este, which used to be an abandoned port area until local fashion designer turned property developer Alan Faena converted it into a luxury boutique hotel—now the cultural heart of an up-and-coming neighborhood.
The hotel’s restaurant El Mercado is richly designed, seamlessly blending brick walls with mahogany bordering and hutches. Much of the homemade food is made in an earthen adobe oven—traditional cantina style. The Library Lounge, with its gazelle heads mounted on the walls and gorgeous black piano, is the perfect spot to sip drinks after dinner.
On site, El Teatro and El Cabaret both offer evening tango and musical performances. For off-site adventures, your assigned experience manager will serve as personal assistant, advising you on which outings to take and making reservations on your behalf. In-house entertainment, as well as the personal liaison to the world outside, is the making of a perfect stay in Buenos Aires.
