Clube do Tango
Rua do Ouvidor, 12
Tel: +55 (2) 220.6020

This is just one of Rio’s dozens of samba parlors, the gafieiras. Some of them, like Estudantina, have been around for decades. A visit is almost mandatory. The atmosphere is familiar and friendly. Men may ask women to dance, but might as easily find themselves being picked up. It would be rude to say no. There aren't specific salsa clubs in Rio, but salsa, lambada and other ballroom beats are part of the repertoire of any decent gafieira.
